Dancehall Origins 2nd Edition, March 2017

Dancehall Origins 2nd Edition took place in London on Saturday 18th March, with invited artists Global Bob, Crazyhype and Stacia Fya – all direct from Jamaica!

Global Bob opened the day with a lecture on Dancehall history and culture, sharing his own personal experiences of the Dancehall Space and Community in Kingston, JA.

After this came three high-energy workshops, one by each artist, all eager to share and accurately represent Dancehall culture – taking the participants on a unique journey to enhance their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the form.

It was an amazing day and a real development from the 1st Edition held in October 2016. The event saw 49% more participants, we had Dancehall on the Big Screen and we were able to connect with more teachers/instructors – some even travelling from Sheffield and Italy to take part!

I am so thrilled with the day and am excited to share photos on the Facebook and Instagram pages – with a few faves below! Like, share and tag – spread the love!
